Nanoporous Polymer Layers for Ink-jet Printer Paper
Abstract
The fabrication of high quality ink-jet printer paper requires the use of complex layer systems to provide high image resolution, fast ink uptake, good image stability and suitable paper gloss. Nanoporous materials based on ceramic nanoparticles in a polymer matrix have been found to form suitable layers. In this feasibility study we propose to test an alternative nanoporous material composed entirely of polymers, and to investigate its suitability for use as a layer in high quality printer paper.
