5956.2:
Functionalized cantilevers for analyte detection, biological and proteomics applications (Project of the TOP NANO 21 Innovation Committee)

Abstract

Micro-fabricated silicon cantilevers arrays offer a novel label-free approach where ligand-receptor binding interactions occurring on the sensor, such as DNA hybridization, protein recognition or analyte binding generate nanomechanical signals like bending or changes in mass which is optically detected in-situ. New styles of chemical cantilever activation as well as structuring of the cantilever surface is proposed to enable flexible deposition or coupling of a variety of receptor molecules for bio-/chemo-sensor application.
