Bio-Chemical Micro- and Nano-Factory based on Optical Tweezer Arrays (BIO-MINAFAC) (Project of the Innovation Committee TOP NANO 21)

Abstract

Laser tweezers offer the unique opportunity to maintain cells and native vesicles free from interactions with any substrate. Our goal is to design, build, and test a system allowing massively parallel optical trapping in conjunction with micro-fluidics. This opens new avenues for combinatorial chemistry and (bio)-chemical reactions in floating nano-containers, eventually at the single molecule level.
Optical imaging schemes will authorize non-destructive inspection of traps and real-time analysis of the performed (bio)-chemical reactions.
