Rational Formulation of Water-Based Nanoparticle Dispersions: Role of Polyelectrolytes and Surface Nanostructures


Abstract

The goal of this project is to devise efficient methods for the formulation of stable water-based nanoparticle dispersions. Substantial evidence is available that suitably chosen polyelectrolytes provide optimal dispersing agents. Rational schemes for optimal formulations nanoparticle dispersion will be devised by studying polyelectrolytes-nanoparticle complexes, nanoscale architecture of the adsorbed layer, and the corresponding inter-particle forces in a systematic way, experimentally as well as theoretically
