Nanostructures for Optical Devices and Elements NODE


Abstract

The NODE project will investigate and develop the design, fabrication and applications of nanostructured subwavelength optical elements. The project will concentrate on optical nanostructures with linewidths in the order of or less than 100 nm, and aspect ratios (linewidth / depth) of up to 1:1. Examples of application areas include resonant filters, anti-reflection surfaces and grating polarisers for application at uv and visible wavelengths. In an initial 1 year project, the basic design and process technology will be developed, product opportunities studied and first products planned.
