Nanoreplication of diffractive optical devices in Spin-on-Glass (SOG) technology
Abstract
With the present application, we want to ask for an additional support of 25 kCHF for execution of the project 4996.1 : ‘Nanoreplication of diffractive optical devices in Spin-on-Glass(SOG) technology’. Since approval for funding of this project (for an amount of 75 kCHF), we have been looking very much to find a person (assistant). Due to strong constraints on the employment market, we did not find, for a number of months, a suitable person and therefore we decided to look at the same time for a post-doc candidate.
Being put under pressure by the industrial partner of the project (Swissoptic), who wants to start as soon as possible the project, we have been continuing looking for a suitable post-doc candidate and finally succeeded in finding an experienced post-doctoral researcher, who will give the project an optimum chance for success. It is Dr. Parashar, from which a short CV is included.
I am asking you if it is possible to raise the budget of the project by 25 kCHF to 100 kCHF to be able to pay the salary of this researcher for one year. On the project we had an approved budget of 75 kCHF, but for the post-doctoral candidate, we would need 90 kCHF for the salary costs and would like to ask 10 kCHF as a contribution to the consumables cost. For paying this resercher, we therefore ask for the possibility to reduce the granted funds for ‘investment costs’ and ‘additional expenses’.
Presently, we have obtained a grant for :
- investment costs 8’000 CHF
-other costs 17’000 CHF
- salaries 50’000 CHF
and, instead, would like to ask the following :
- investment costs 0 CHF
-other costs 10’000 CHF
- salaries 90’000 CHF
