MariGel
Abstract
We hereby propose to study potential biomedical and cosmetic applications of nanogels from marine microalgae. The group is able to sample, cultivate and manipulate application relevant amounts of algae gels in a marine agriculture facility. The chemical and physicochemical properties of the gels will be investigated. The results are expected to provide the necessary platform to show feasibility of potential applications of marine nanogels as new controlled delivery devices, as ´natural´ UV-filters, and deactivators for viruses. Additionally these informations could be regarded as a model for the development new, artificial nano-objects and –devices.
