Abstract
The ability of depositing material in very small volumes is useful in a wide variety of applications. While many of the existing techniques employ methods that are inherently limited in volume of the deposited species, we propose a scheme based on scanning probe microscopy, which is both very versatile and conceptually simple. Among possible deposited materials are molecular entities, electrical conductors, chemicals to change the surface free energy, and others.
