Photonic Light Emitting Devices based on Quantum Dot Semiconductors, (Photodot)

Abstract

This projects addresses the development of novel light sources incorporating nanostructured semiconductors (quantum dots) in the active region. Quantum dot superluminescent light-emitting diodes and high-frequency lasers operating around 1300 nm will be pursued, corresponding to the core business of the industrial partner. The expected outcome is improved performance and significant cost saving as compared to traditional devices.
