Molecular control of single cell adhesion sites using sub-micron patterned substrates - A testbed for the manipulation of cell behavior via extra-cellular perturbation
Abstract
The specific aim of this project is to implement a platform technology for the systematic investigation and molecular manipulation of cell adhesion at the scale of single adhesion sites. The technology will consist of:
· Sub-micron patterned surfaces with well-controlled geometrical and chemical properties
· A cell system suited to monitor the responses of adhesions sites and the cytoskeleton.
A quantitative light microscopic readout of the dynamic adhesion responses.
