Nano – profound concepts and support
TEMAS has a longstanding experience with managing the complex aspects of public funding of nanotechnologies, integrating the point of view of public authorities and organisations. In 1999 - at a very early point in time of technological development - we have built first bridges between science and economy, by developing the concept and implementing the successful national programme Top Nano 21. Several mandates followed on the international scene to evaluate concepts of programmes as profound second opinions, to evaluate and to supervise complex innovative projects.
As early as 2003 TEMAS has begun to work on aspects of safety and risks of nanotechnologies, in an international context by coordinating the EU funded project "IMPART-NANOTOX":
"Improving the understanding of the impact of nanoparticles on human health
and the environment"
"Investigative support for the elucidation of the toxicological impact
of nanoparticles on human health and the environment".
TEMAS has headed as the partner in charge the development and implementation of the "precautionary matrix for synthetic nanomaterials" in Switzerland.
We have methodically transferred and packaged our competence into modular services:
elaboration of concepts for safe utilization of nanotechnologies, with a focus on
safety of workers, consumers, and the environment
implementation of concepts and programmes in the area of opportunities and
risks of nanotechnologies
analysis of the impact of adopted measures and activities
Success resides in our approach: consolidation of concepts and measures in close collaboration with the key stakeholders - a delicate but rewarding method.
